Notice the box on the right has the greyhound seal of approval. Both kinds are very popular here.
Saturday morning before heading north to ride the Jack Rabbit, I went over to the Sautee Center So-Called Farmers Market & loaded up with locally grown veggies.
Only two vendors were there set up when I got there, the Mennoite lady & her children with gorgeous complexions & Clark's "buddy" Steve. Steve asked Clark a while back if he was a movie star or famous. Or a chef!! We think Steve grows something besides his Famous MicroGreens in his hot house Just sayin'....
Anyhoo, here's today's bounty...

Lots of lil sweet potatoes.

Baby variety of eggplant

Squash -- Delicata & Butternut

Tiny cute melon, she thinks its yellow. This is their second crop of melons this year.

Yellow snap beans, with purple stripes called "dragon's tongue". She said they were milder then a green bean & the stipes fade when you cook them.

Pretty, tiny varigated okra... They look very tender.. Ummmmmmm!!

Beautiful tiny tomatoes. Very sweet & tender.

This, btw, is NOT lettuce, they are Micro Greens. Many different varieties in this bag. These are the only bags I bought from Steve.
Going to be a good week of veggie eating here at Burnt Dog.
Maybe even cancel out some of the ill effects of the Boston butt that Clark will be smoking tomorrow. Ummmm, pork fat!!
